Gerald W. Faust, Ph.D.
Faust Management Corporation was started in 1983 by Dr. Gerald (Gerry) W. Faust. Dr. Faust had actually begun his consulting career much earlier as a professor at the University of Illinois and Texas and with his first company, Courseware, Inc. His consulting started in the fields of training and the use of technology to enhance human learning and performance. In 1975, Bechtel Corp asked Dr. Faust to study its several multi-billion dollar-projects around the world and provide advice on how they should train and develop managers to lead those projects. That sparked Dr. Faust’s interests in business as the “grand problem-solving activity,” and he saw the complexities of the human performance issues, being impacted by organizational issues including teamwork, strategy, structure, information systems, etc.
He continued his interest at Courseware as he worked with consultants on his own business and helped consulting businesses design structure and packages for their programs. In 1979, he moved to Chairman at Courseware and soon after became a partner and president of the Adizes Institute. There he was introduced to the initial concept of the business life cycle and worked with his partner, Ichak Adizes to develop methods of helping organizations navigate the many transitions they must make to drive their business to Prime. After four years building the Adizes Institute and doubling its revenues each year. Dr. Faust left to start Faust Management Corporation.
Since that time, FMC has become known as a developer of tools, techniques and processes to help business leaders and their organizations succeed. The company has developed an international network of senior consultants, most with extensive experience as both business leaders and as consultants.
